International Montessori School Outdoor Playground & Indoor Playground Renovation, Thailand

This project involves the renovation of an International Montessori School’s Outdoor and Indoor Playground in Thailand, designed with a natural theme to foster engagement, safety, and developmental growth. The indoor playground (1,900 sq ft) caters to children aged 2–6 years, featuring a soft, sensory-rich environment with interactive elements such as modular plastic blocks, trampolines, obstacle courses, and foam flooring for safety. The outdoor playground (1,800 sq ft) serves children aged 4–8 years, emphasizing nature-inspired design with structures like slides, balance beams, musical elements, and climbing equipment to enhance gross motor skills and creativity.

The design prioritizes a natural, non-cartoonish aesthetic with earthy tones (greens & browns) to create a calming yet stimulating environment. The indoor space focuses on safety and sensory exploration, incorporating soft play panels, wall games, and impact-absorbing flooring. The outdoor area encourages physical development and imaginative play through nature-themed structures, promoting climbing, balancing, and auditory engagement. Both playgrounds align with Montessori principles, fostering independent learning and motor skill development in a secure, child-centered setting.
