Indoor Activity Room Designed for the KSA Alerteqa Private Nursery in Saudi Arabia
This project is an indoor activity room designed for the KSA Alerteqa Private Nursery in Saudi Arabia. The space spans approximately 700 sq ft and features a unique semi-circular layout with a high ceiling and a floor-to-ceiling curved window wall, offering excellent views, natural light, and ventilation.
The design aims to create a creative, interactive, and safe environment for children aged 3 to 6, fostering their physical, cognitive, and social development. Through thoughtful planning and engaging elements, the activity room encourages exploration, learning, and play in a nurturing setting.

Design Concept
The color scheme draws inspiration from the beauty of nature and the enchanting hues of a dreamlike world. The space features a blend of soft pastels—such as light blue, blush pink, and lavender—paired with vibrant accents of yellow, green, and blue, creating a light, serene, yet energetic atmosphere. The ceiling and walls are adorned with cloud and star patterns, transforming the room into a whimsical, fairy-tale-like environment where children feel as though they are exploring a magical realm. This thoughtful use of color not only captures children's attention but also helps regulate their emotions, fostering a sense of safety, comfort, and joy.
The Application Of Design Concept
The Play Area is the heart of the space, where children can release energy and engage in physical activities. By seamlessly blending natural elements with the enchanting theme, the area features vibrant orange and blue tones, colors that radiate energy and inspire exploration. Equipped with a variety of play structures—such as a wooden playhouse, crawl nets, slides, climbing walls, a ball pit, and sensory soft play equipment—the space encourages children to develop their coordination, physical strength, and social skills through fun and interactive play. The spacious layout offers ample room for free movement, while its flexible design adapts to a wide range of activities and group interactions, ensuring endless opportunities for creativity and engagement.
The Interactive Wall Play Area is another highlight of the design, featuring a wall filled with a variety of educational toys and interactive installations. It includes nature-themed wall activities for younger children and STEM-based puzzles for older kids, catering to different age groups and developmental needs. The zone is designed in natural, refreshing tones like blue and purple, creating a visually soothing environment while stimulating creativity and hands-on skills. Through engaging with the wall-mounted installations, children can develop logical thinking, patience, and problem-solving abilities, making exploration the central theme of this area.
The Reading Corner, nestled under the staircase, is a peaceful and tranquil space designed to provide children with a comfortable and calming environment for focused reading and self-discovery. The area features a soft palette of blush pink and white, complemented by natural wood bookshelves, cozy children's sofas, and touches of greenery, creating a warm and inviting reading nook. The walls are adorned with cloud and star decorations, immersing children in a dreamlike atmosphere. This zone not only offers a wide selection of books but also features a flexible layout, allowing children to freely choose their reading spots and lose themselves in the magical worlds of stories, fostering their imagination and concentration.
